How to Repair the MBR on Windows 7

Randomly it may happen that your Windows MBR (Master Boot Record) can be tempered anyhow by installation of another OS. You need to fix the issues of MBR before Windows is rebooted.The default error message you will get of this problem is “Operating System Not Found”. Repair MBR on Windows 7Instructions:

  1.Insert the Windows 7 installation CD and boot the system from DVD drive only. For this to happen, you need to change the boot order in the system’s BIOS.

  2.Select the default “Language”, “Time” and “Keyboard Input”option on the first window and then click “Next” to move further.

  3.Now click on the “Repair Your Computer” tab to get the access the System Recovery for booting the system. Now select the “Command Prompt” to execute the “Bootsect.exe”. Bootsect is situated inside the boot folder so you need to change the location to the boot directory. Now execute the “bootsect/nt60 C:\” if you want Windows 7 to be installed in the C drive only. On other way, you can also execute “bootsect/nt60 SYS” or “bootsect/nt60 ALL” to mend the system partition settings. Now after executing, eject the DVD and restart your system. Your system can now boot the Windows 7 perfectly.
